What we've been up to!

So, this past weekend was a whirlwind of activity. Yukta, Irini, and I all climbed Lion's Head on Friday afternoon. We went up just before sunset and descended soon after, and the view was absolutely beautiful!

On Saturday, we had a house warming party of sorts and invited the wonderful Steps crew and some of the new friends we've made while in Cape Town. The party was a resounding success, in large part due to Yukta's incredible efficiency ;-) Some of us debated about politics and democracy, while others of us conducted a mini jam session with guitars, amplifiers and all in the living room.
Sunday was very laidback, with a huge breakfast at Lazari's followed by a unanimous return back into bed. In the evening some of us stayed at home and the rest headed to Buena Vista Social club for an evening of fast paced salsa. Sunday night saw me sleeping like a baby, what with all the dancing and entertaining of the weekend.

So far this week, the weather has been less than pleasant, which is all the more inspiration to get some work done! All of us are working hard on our individual projects, from preparing a snazzy press release video, to trying to figure out how to overpower Wikipedia, who keep deleting our Democracy House entries every time we write them up. For me, I'm working hard on beefing up the content for our website, from news stories to library resource materials, and in general cartoons...because democracy should never be without laughs!

Speaking of website content, I should get to working on that. So...until next time :-D
